The Adoration of Jenna Fox

by Mary E. Pearson

inspired by Chain Reader, a four word review:

Just who is Jenna?

or (in not quite 4 words)

How far would you go?

4.5 out of 5 stars - highly recommended!

I just finished this last night. Very interesting. Almost weird. This would make a good book club book. I'd love to discuss this one with other people.

I'm glad you liked it. I was surprised by how much I liked it, and I agree that it would be a fabulous book club book. Lots to discuss and think about. I thought the ending was a bit cheesy, but other than that I really enjoyed it.

It is one of those books that it's better to go in knowing nothing about though - it added to the suspense.

Yes, I liked to know as LITTLE as possible about books before reading them. When i read your and others review,I go to the end. Did you like it?? Yes ok I'll try it. Then when I finish the book I'll go back and read what you thought. My sister is just the opposite , she wants to know what she is in for.
Ok why did Jenna wait till after Ethan was dead to have his child. Wouldnt they want to share that experience together????

It took me a while to figure out the child thing - for some reason it didn't occur to me that it was her child until I went back and re-read the chapter. I have no idea why she wouldn't have wanted to raise a child together. Especially since she had like 70 years or whatever with him.

Were you surprised with Allys went through with the surgery? I was actually a bit disappointed when she did. Maybe the idea was to show that while you might think something and sincerely believe that you are right, when you actually face that thing you may find yourself with the opposite view. It seems like it could have been a good contrast - the side that would go to all lengths and the side that understood that there should be some sort of balance.

Wow that was deep. Got to agree. In my head I believe that there is a time for all of us to die. But faced with saving my child, even a little part of him/her...I want to say that I wouldnt do something so drastic but my heart says LIAR!!!!

First of all I'm kind of confused how to say Allys name. Her name is Allison?? How do say Allys??? Anywho yes a little disappointed about Ally's surgery but to me it was more her parents decision than hers. Although after 200+ years she seemed to come to terms with it. Dang I wish I lived near people who actually wanted to be in a book club. This is a good one to discuss.

You're probably right about wanting to do anything for your children. I suspect when I have children, I will feel the same. And, you're probably right that Allys might not have had much say in it - her parents were probably desperate.

No idea how to say Allys' name. I pronounce it like Alice in my head, but I am not very good with names. If I don't recognize a name and can't figure it out, I always just make something up :)

I agree with the book club thing. It's sure nice to have an intelligent conversation about a book!
